Position: Human Resources – Classification Officer Description: In consultation with the Director Ministerial Correspondence and the Director Ministerial Services, the consultant will be performing the following tasks for positions in the various categories with various linguistic profiles : IS (04,05) AS (06, 05, 04, 03) and CR (05, 04): Revise existing job description(s) and create new job descriptions that reflect the realities of the work being performed and format the information to comply with templates; Revise and create statements of merit criteria for the positions based on the job descriptions which can be used for various processes; Develop rating guides and assessment tools for competitive processes - questions and answers are to be prepared in both official languages (written exam may be administered) and reference guide for conducting reference checks; Mark exams and complete HR evaluation grid, as applicable; Prepare and participate in interviews and documenting final results for each candidate including completing the HR evaluation grid; Develop reference check templates and questions and conduct reference checks; Ensure required documents meet PWGSC HR Advisor specifications; Provide management support and advice throughout the process. Requirement: Extensive experience in Human Resources (HR) in revising and writing job descriptions (for the job categories identified above), staffing tools and actions according to HR standards Specializing in Government contracting since 1975, Portage Personnel Inc. is a preferred Supplier with Contracts Canada and is a qualified supplier with Public Works Canada to offer resources to all Federal Government departments in the areas of Technology Consultants; Consulting Services; Administration; Financial and Payroll Services through the use of Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements.
