Our Federal Government Client is looking for an Environmental Assessment Officer starting as soon as possible.

Description:

Provide technical and advisory services related to the identification, assessment, management, remediation and monitoring of contaminated sites for the Water Survey of Canada and other EC contaminated sites to the Departmental Manager of WSC (contaminated sites) and the Manager of the Contaminated Sites Program with respect to the Hg and Creosote hydrometric program.

The person will:

• Coordinate, plan, develop and prioritize investigative/risk assessment plans and processes related to the identification and assessment of contaminated sites

• Analyzes investigative/risk assessment data/information and develops recommendations for senior management of Real Property Division and WSC and others.

• Collaborates in the development of the contaminated sites annual management plan by providing technical/specialized advice and recommendations.

• Provides for expert point of contact/liaison for clients, stakeholders and officers within WSC.

• Reviews, evaluate scientific and technical literature and legislation, policies and standards and keeps abreast of trends/developments in environmental management/contaminated sites to ensure the application of best practices within …. Respecting contaminated sites.

• Provides for a focal point of liaison and technical consultative services respecting the Real Property Division contaminated sites program. 

• Ensures that all contaminated sites information is entered into the Departmental Environmental Assessment and Contaminated Sites Database and that the database is kept up to date.

Applicants MUST have

Experience in managing assessment and remediation projects in the field of contaminated sites
